While the MTV Movie Awards are all about celebrating the best from the past year in film, they're also about shining a light on the very worst. This year, we're introducing a brand-new category for all the deliciously despicable characters: Best On-Screen Dirtbag.

We've broken down all the nominees in the category below, but it's up to you to vote one member of this detestable quintet to the podium to collect his or her Golden Popcorn. We will all find out who the worst of the worst is this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET live on MTV.

Bryce Dallas Howard - "" If an on-screen dirtbag does his or her job properly, naturally the audience will beg for some comeuppance. Without a doubt, none of this year's love-to-hate-'em nominees got it worse than Bryce Dallas Howard's horribly racist Miss Hilly. Apparently, revenge is a dish best served in the form of a chocolate pie made out of human feces.

Colin Farrell - "Horrible Bosses" Even if it weren't for the cocaine addiction and his propensity for firing those that "creep him out," Colin Farrell's character in last summer's hit comedy "Horrible Bosses" may have ended up on the short list for On-Screen Dirtbag for that comb-over alone. Sometimes a poor choice of hairstyle can be just as bad as a person's behavior.

Jennifer Aniston - "Horrible Bosses" There's nothing wrong with a small workplace crush as long as human resources has been notified, you keep your conversations work-appropriate, and you don't spray your co-worker's pants with water in order to see the outline of his junk. Jennifer Aniston's character in "Horrible Bosses" did not heed any of these rules as she aggressively tried to seduce her dental hygienist, played by Charlie Day.

Jon Hamm - "Bridesmaids" Sure, he might seem like a great guy. He's rich, and hell, he looks like Jon Hamm, but Ted is not a man you want to be around. He does that thing that can only be described by Kristen Wiig as she drags that back of her limp hand across her face. It's not pretty.

Oliver Cooper - "Project X" Sometimes dirtbags are funny. One of our nominees this year, Oliver Cooper of "Project X," has the distinct honor of earning nominations for both Best Comedic Performance and Best On-Screen Dirtbag. And that's the beautiful balance that Costa strikes. Yes, he's going to turn up the speed on the treadmill that you're running on, but you'll probably laugh about it later.

Now that Kristen Wiig has officially left "Saturday Night Live," many fans are wondering what the deal is with Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, who are both rumored to be leaving the show ahead of its fall season premiere.

It seems that fans will have to wait a bit longer to find out. When MTV News caught up with Samberg during MTV Sneak Peek Week, where he sat down to chat about his new film, "That's My Boy," he explained that he's got some time before he needs to give boss Lorne Michaels his two weeks' notice.

"You know, I've just been focusing on the movie and all this stuff," he explained to MTV News. "I haven't talked to Lorne about it yet. Something will get decided over the summer. We'll see. No matter what, it's been a dream come true working there for me."

"I don't know yet. But it was a fun season," he later added during his Sneak Peek chat. "It was a crazy finale. Mick Jagger and Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters. It's open-ended at this time."

Samberg, who hosted the MTV Movie Awards in 2009, sat down with MTV News ahead of this year's show. The 2012 show will be hosted by Russell Brand and feature performances by Fun., the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa. It all goes down from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, live on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.

Captain America

Go see Captain America this weekend! Support our Colin!

I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

(Sit down, stop jumping around, it's an awesome picture, I know. And the quality is amazing. It's not grainy or reddish... it's perfect.) (No, it's not.)

(And you can totally see the Captain America logo on the side of the glasses.) (No, you can't.)

Anyway, Captain America is pulling a strong 71% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes right now so GO SEE IT! IT'S FANTASTIC!

Justin Bieber Rooting For 'Bridesmaids' At MTV Movie Awards

Singer shares his fond memories of the Movie Awards, which always have him 'laughing and having a great time.'

Justin Bieber's fondness for the MTV Movie Awards dates back to a time way before his 2011 nomination for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment.

"My first memory?" he pondered to MTV News. "I remember just watching it from a young age and always laughing and having a great time."

While he didn't nab any noms this year, he is hoping that "Bridesmaids" walks home with a Golden Popcorn trophy when the 2012 MTV Movie Awards go live this Sunday. "I liked 'Bridesmaids.' I need to see 'Hunger Games' again. I need to see it because I went there the first night it came out and I feel asleep because it was like super-late. But I need to see it again," he explained, before breaking down why he loved the raunchy female comedy so much.

"I just think it was funny. It's kind of like the female version of 'The Hangover,' " he said. "I thought it was funny."

Expect more memories to be made and lots of Golden Popcorn statues to be handed out (maybe even to "Bridesmaids") when the 2012 MTV Movie Awards take place this weekend. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand and feature performances by Fun., the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa. It all goes down from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday.

Kristen Stewart Takes Promotions to "Today" Show

Gearing up for a busy day of promotional appearances, Kristen Stewart was spotted out in New York City this morning (May 31).

The “Adventureland” actress looked lovely in a green and gray dress as she prepared for her interview on "The Today Show" to plug her new movie “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

In a recent interview, Kristen talked about the public’s perception that she’s trying to ditch her Bella Swan persona by taking different movie roles.

She explained, "People are going to think that it's me trying to either distance myself from 'Twilight' or try to prove myself beyond it or whatever. But it's [just] good timing. I think it's all fallen off the truck in a really lucky way. But it's totally not my doing."

'Twilight': Are There More Vampires In Stephenie Meyer's Future?

'Things change so much from week to week,' the author tells MTV News of returning to the vampire franchise in the future.
By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

The final installment of Stephenie Meyer's vampire saga, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," hits theaters this fall, showing newlywed Bella Cullen in all her red-eyed, ice-cold-skin glory. It's been a long journey since "Twilight" released in 2008 and many fans are sad to say goodbye to their beloved franchise. But when the credits roll on November 16, it may not be the end of Edward and Bella's story.

When MTV News flew out to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to visit Meyer on the set of "The Host," the author revealed she has a few more story lines in mind for the couple.

"Things change so much from week to week, let alone year to year. I mean, there are other stories, obviously," she said. "I have a really hard time putting down characters and so I know what would happen. It's just a matter of, 'Are we tired of vampires?' I kind of feel like maybe we are as a general group."

Us, tired of vampires? Never! But Meyer did admit — even if we're still up for more bloodsucking tales — she's a little worn out on the creatures.

"It might take some time to want to go back there. And of course, for me it's easier 'cause I know exactly what happens so there's not as much suspense and stress for myself."

Fans of the "Twilight" series may recall Meyer's venture back to Forks when she wrote the first novel from Edward Cullen's perspective, "Midnight Sun." The story was leaked online, causing the writer to put its release on hold. For those of us who are itching to get our hands on a copy, we may have to wait a few years.

"You know, I'm trying to stay away from the vampire stuff because I do think if I can focus on other things, I'll recharge a little bit there. I haven't really looked at anything vampirish for a little while," she said. "Someday, like on my deathbed or whatever, if I never get around to writing it, I'll tell everyone what happens. I'll just narrate for a little bit."

"Breaking Dawn - Part 1" is up for two MTV Movie Awards this year under the categories Best Kiss and Movie of the Year. Voting is still open, so make your voice heard! Then, this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET you can catch the results on MTV, along with appearances by your favorite castmembers — including Kristen Stewart.

Lil Wayne's Name Didn't Come Up In Pusha T's 'Exodus 23:1' Session

Despite rumors that the track takes aim at Weezy and Drake, producer Rico Beats says they weren't part of the conversation.
By Rob Markman

If Pusha T intended to dis anyone on his "Exodus 23:1" single, the track's producer, Rico Beats, wasn't aware.

"Honestly, when we were in the room listening to that record, I didn't hear none of these guys' names brought up," Rico told MTV News on Wednesday of rumors that Pusha was taking shots at Drake and Lil Wayne on the track. "It was none of that. Dream got in his zone and he went in the booth. Pusha got his pen, like I didn't hear nobody mentioned."

On the track, the Clipse rapper spits, "You signed to one n---a, that's signed to another n---a, that's signed to three n---as now that's bad luck," a verse that many fans thought targeted the two rappers and their YMCMB squad. Wayne took immediate offense to the song, tweeting, "F-- pusha t and anybody that love em," and firing back with his dis song "Ghoulish" two days after.

But before making the beat for "Exodus 23:1," Rico says that the only instruction he received from Pusha was to make him something with a dark sound. He immediately went to work and found inspiration in Notorious B.I.G.'s 1997 underground favorite "What's Beef," which he sampled from and then built his sounds around.

"Pusha kept tellin' me, 'I need something dark, man. The album sounds crazy, but I still need somethin' for my fans'. So I was like, 'I got you, give me by six o'clock,' " Rico recalled. "I went down to the studio and I was just listening to Biggie. I was just playin' pure Biggie. So ["What's Beef"] came on and once I heard [B.I.G.'s] 'ha-ha-ha-ha' [vocal] I was like, 'Oh sh--'."

If Pusha's "Exodus" left things up to interpretation, Weezy's dis did not. On "Ghoulish," Tunechi took direct aim with lines like "Brrrr, what happened to that boy/ He was talkin' sh-- we put a clappin' to that boy" making direct reference to Birdman and Pusha's 2002 single "What Happened to That Boy."

Rico, a Brooklyn native, says he hasn't heard Wayne's record in its entirety, but did admit that it was playing in the background during a Memorial Day weekend barbecue. And while he doesn't know whether Pusha plans to respond, the producer confirmed that he and the Virginia lyricist will collaborate more in the future, as he is slated to produce about half of Pusha's next solo album.

What do you think of Rico Beats' "Exodus 23:1" beat? Let us know in the comments.

'Les Miserables' Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman look rough and ragged in first clip from Tom Hooper's musical adaptation.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Anne Hathaway as Fantine in 'Les Miserables'
Photo: Universal Pictures

For his adaptation of the mega-musical "Les Misérables," Tom Hooper has taken a much different approach to bringing a stage work to the big screen. The Academy Award-winning director behind "The King's Speech" allowed his actors to look poor, tired and dirty. Plus, they all recorder their vocals live on set.

The first trailer for "Les Misérables" debuted online Wednesday (May 30), giving us a fuller look at what to expect. Naturally, Anne Hathaway has been the big talking point coming out of the clip. And while the actress sports a rougher look in Hooper's flick, fans will get to see her as Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman) when exclusive footage from "The Dark Knight Rises" debuts at the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

For now, read on as we break down five key scenes from the musical:

Hugh Jackman's Transformation
The first image we ever saw from Hooper's adaptation of the hit musical showed Jackson, looking much rougher than we're used to seeing him. The photo — and much of the footage from this first trailer — comes from the first part of the film, where Jackman's character, Jean Valjean has just been released from prison after 14 years. The look is much different from the cleaned-up Jackman we'll see later in the film, but the rough design proves that Hooper is going further than a little dirt on the cheeks to bring a real-life feel to pre-revolution France.

"I Dreamed a Dream"
Hathaway's stripped-down version of "I Dreamed a Dream" is both surprising and effective. Most performers belt the sorrowful tune, but for Hooper's take, the actors recorded their vocals live on set, so Hathaway's quieter, sadder version makes sense logistically. The toned-down version proves much more cinematic, simpler and more tragic in a way. Bloggers at this year's CinemaCon threw it immediately into the running for an Academy Award after only seeing a short clip. If the trailer is any evidence, they may not have been far off.

The Barricade
One of the most iconic images from the musical, the barricade, makes a prominent appearance in the trailer. It's one of the many images the trailer cuts to as Hathaway sings "I Dream a Dream." Additionally, the clip provides glimpses of Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Eddie Redmayne as Marius and Samantha Barks as Eponine.

will also stir conversation. After losing her job, Hathaway's character, Fantine, sells her hair in order to provide for her daughter. Hathaway really cut her hair for the part.

Crowe as Javert
The other major character in this miserable affair is Russell Crowe as dogged policeman Javert. He spends years searching for Jean Valjean, hoping to throw him back in prison for breaking his parole. In this scene, Javert looks off a bridge off into the distance, perhaps depicting or referencing his own destiny.

Exclusive 'That's My Boy' Clip: Hot For Teacher

Andy Samberg and his co-stars present the clip during Sneak Peek Week, leading up to this Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.
By Kara Warner

Are you ready for the raunchiest, most inappropriate-yet-hilarious father/son comedy of the year? Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg are hoping so with Sandler's first-ever R-rated comedy, "That's My Boy."

MTV News premiered the film as part of our second annual Sneak Peek Week ahead of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, and a slew of the film's stars were on hand to help present an exclusive clip to the lucky audience: Samberg, Vanilla Ice, Will Forte, Ciara, Milo Ventimiglia and Eva Amurri.

The film revolves around deadbeat dad Donny (Sandler), who got his teacher pregnant when he was just a teenager and raised his son Han Solo Berger (Samberg) as a single parent until Han turned 18. After a financial mishap, Donny reappears in Han's life on the eve of his wedding. As Donny tries desperately to reconnect with his son, who has changed his name to Todd, Donny must face the consequences of his terrible parenting.

The clip provides the background — or an explanation of sorts — for how teenage Donny ended up sleeping with his teacher. In a nutshell, the teacher started it. We see teenage Donny (Justin Weaver) sitting in what appears to be detention for writing an inappropriate note about his teacher (Amurri), who asks if he has a crush on her. Donny looks visibly uncomfortable with the question, particularly after she says, "So, you don't want me?" and takes her hair out of a ponytail and twirls it around her fingers.

"No!" says Donny. "Yeah? I don't know what I'm supposed to say right now!"

"Is that gum in your mouth, Donny?" she asks, putting her hand in front of Donny's mouth so he can spit the gum out, which naughty teacher puts into her mouth and begins to chew.

As is the case with many a Sandler comedy, the scene is both funny and gross at the same time.

If you enjoyed the clip, don't miss the rest of our Sneak Peek Week action with stars from "Magic Mike" and "Rock of Ages," all leading up to the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards live on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

On-screen transformations aren't purely dominated by Autobots and Decepticons. Actors can undergo their own forms of cinematic overhauls too, from makeup-heavy makeovers to complete 180-degree turns against type to — as the case may be — shocking returns to one's original form.

All of these and more are represented in the Best On-Screen Transformation category at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. This year's nominees include the twice-nominated Colin Farrell for his dirtbaggy turn in "Horrible Bosses" and "Hunger Games" favorite Elizabeth Banks' perfectly pink metamorphosis as the irrepressible Effie Trinket, among others.

There's no shortage of worthy candidates for the Best On-Screen Transformation award, but which nominee will walk away feasting on Golden Popcorn? You can make that choice for yourself by voting over at MovieAwards.MTV.com — but first, let's re-examine each of the nominees, shall we?

Colin Farrell, "Horrible Bosses"
The Irish actor is the epitome of the leading man: dark-haired, dark-eyed, smoky-voiced, with an enormous list of credits to his name including "S.W.A.T." and his Golden Globe-winning turn in "In Bruges." None of those qualities are on display in Farrell's "Horrible Bosses" performance as coke fiend Bobby Pellitt, a balding, overweight son of a you-know-what. His physical transformation is as shocking as Tom Cruise's Les Grossman of "Tropic Thunder" fame. It's no less award-worthy, either.

Elizabeth Banks, "The Hunger Games"
Banks was a huge "Hunger Games" fan well before the movie ever got into motion, and her adoration for the world of Panem shines brightly through her performance as the bubbly Effie. It's no easy task trying to recognize the "Zack and Miri" actress beneath the layers upon layers of pink-and-pale powder, but trust us, she's there — and she'll be there for many years to come, thanks to the huge success of the first "Hunger Games" film.

Johnny Depp, "21 Jump Street"
We did it, guys! No, seriously, we did — MTV News long championed for a Depp cameo in Jonah Hill's "21 Jump Street," and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star delivered with flying colors. Aside from the fact that Depp is virtually unrecognizable in the role, it's the hilarious and astonishing way that his part plays out that proves just how much of a transformation this "Jump Street" throwback really was for the Oscar-nominated actor.

Michelle Williams, "My Week With Marilyn"
As Jamie Foxx and Philip Seymour Hoffman will happily tell you, getting under the skin of real-life historical figures is a great way to win yourself an Oscar. That tactic didn't work for Williams at this year's Academy Awards, but it could very easily lead to a Golden Popcorn trophy at the Movie Awards on Sunday. Williams is virtually unrecognizable as Monroe, slipping into the iconic entertainer's tragic life with ease.

Rooney Mara, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"
If I were a betting man, I'd put money on Mara taking home the Best On-Screen Transformation award. Seriously, did any of these other candidates get their no-no parts pierced for their roles? I didn't think so! Beyond the long-term physical adjustments she made to her own body, Mara embraced punk-hacker Lisbeth Salander's cold and calculating personality wholeheartedly, convincing us beyond a shadow of a doubt that she truly was the girl who played with fire.

Kristen Stewart came through with more than juicy scoop about her role in "Snow White and the Huntsman" when she sat down with MTV News on Tuesday night (May 29) as part of Sneak Peek Week: KStew also brought an exclusive clip from the movies, which opens this Friday.

In the teaser, Snow White (Stewart) and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) are seen hanging upside down from a tree after being captured by dwarves. To escape, the Huntsman offers them gold, but when the dwarves refuse, Snow assumes it's because they have allegiances to Queen Ravenna. In fact, one of the dwarves says they "lost everything when the King died" thanks to the evil queen's ways.

The king, it is revealed, was Snow's dad. And it turns out she, too, lost it all when the Queen took over power. Another dwarf, who can "see into" Snow's light, tells her she "is destined to bring an end to the darkness." What happens next will be revealed when the film opens on June 1.

In addition to Stewart and Hemsworth, the film also stars Charlize Theron as the queen and Prince Charming himself, Sam Claflin, who joined Stewart for MTV's sit-down. The flick is directed by Rupert Sanders.

"SWATH" kicked off our MTV Sneak Peek Week festivities, which will also include chats with the casts of "That's My Boy" (Wednesday), "Magic Mike" (Thursday) and "Rock of Ages" (Friday), all week on MTV and MTV.com. Check back every night at 11 p.m. ET as Josh Horowitz conducts Q&A sessions with the actors live from the 5 Towers on Universal CityWalk. Fans can get in on the action on Twitter using the hash tag #MTVSneak.

Stewart will be on hand at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, where she'll not only be a presenter but also vie for Best Kiss after being nominated for her smooch with Robert Pattinson in "Breaking Dawn - Part 1." (The film is up for Movie of the Year.)

Russell Brand is set to host the MTV Movie Awards with performances by Fun., Wiz Khalifa, the Black Keys and house DJ Martin Solveig. It all goes down at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, June 3!

'Moonrise Kingdom' Record-Breaking Weekend: Experts Weigh In

'The numbers were eye-popping. You'd think Iron Man was in the film,' one box-office expert tells MTV News of new Wes Anderson film.
By Fallon Prinzivalli

As "Men in Black 3" knocked "Marvel's The Avengers" off its record-breaking throne and nabbed the title of #1 film in America over Memorial Day weekend, Focus Features' "Moonrise Kingdom" broke its own box-office records. The Wes Anderson-directed film, which opened in two theaters in New York and two in Los Angeles, grossed more than $669,000 this weekend. It raked in an average of $130,752 per location, setting a new record previously held by 2006's "Dreamgirls."

"Wes Anderson films always open in limited release with very high averages as his fanbase is very loyal," says Box Office Guru editor Gitesh Pandya, "but the 'Moonrise Kingdom' numbers were eye-popping. You'd think Iron Man was in the film."

Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations also attributes the success to Anderson's "ardent" fanbase.

"[His fans] have seen him produce just a handful of films over the course of his entire career, which began with 1996's 'Bottle Rocket.' Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and 'Moonrise Kingdom' is Anderson's first live-action film in five years, so there was no doubt a burning desire to see his latest whimsical dramedy," he says. "Filmmakers with unique and authentic voices are far and few between, and Anderson is something of a national treasure for the hipster collective."

"Moonrise Kingdom" takes place in the summer of 1965 and follows the search for two 12-year-olds who flee their hometown in New England for a wilderness adventure. The film's success follows its debut in Cannes, France, where it opened the city's famous film festival. Bock believes its premiere at such a large venue contributed to the buzz, keeping it in the mind of audiences — despite an influx of blockbusters hitting cinemas around the globe.

"There is always room for a small, original tale amongst the blockbuster giants of summer, and 'Moonrise Kingdom' may just be this summer's 'Midnight in Paris,' " he said, referencing the Woody Allen film that won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. "The big test for ['Moonrise'] will be when it debuts in moderate wide release (400-plus theaters), reaching smaller markets that probably haven't seen a film of his since his biggest hit, 2001's 'The Royal Tenenbaums,' which grossed $52 million. While Anderson's films are revered by critics and cinephiles, wide audiences haven't exactly embraced the kooky sensibilities and eccentric outlook he emotes in his films."

But Phil Contrino of BoxOffice.com believes an A-list cast including Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Edward Norton and Tilda Swinton will help bring the film to a broader audience — though he does think widespread popularity may be limited.

"If you don't like Wes by now, this movie won't change your mind," Contrino said. "He's burrowed very deep into his own style eccentricities."

"Moonrise Kingdom" was too late to earn any Movie Awards nominations at this year's show, but tune in this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET to celebrate your other favorite films, including "Hunger Games," "Bridesmaids" and the final "Harry Potter" film.

Stephenie Meyer Misses Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart On Set

'It seems funny not to have Kristen here,' 'Twilight' author tells MTV News from New Mexico set of 'The Host.'
By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Stephenie Meyer has a lot to be excited about. "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," the final installment of her "Twilight" vampire saga, hits theaters later this year, and the author has already started on her next big-screen project. She is currently working on the set of "The Host," the film adaptation of her sci-fi romance novel.

When MTV News headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, Meyer told us how strange it feels not to have "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart hanging around on set.

"It makes it a lot calmer. I do miss them, though," she said. "It seems funny not to have Kristen here. 'I'm on a set, why can't I talk to Kristen?' That's a little funny."

Although she misses working with the actors she spent nearly five years with bringing Edward Cullen and Bella Swan to life, Meyer has welcomed the experience of filming "The Host." Along with giving audiences the chance to see a whole new cast of characters, it was an opportunity to escape the dark and gloomy weather in Forks. "This [set] has beautiful landscapes everywhere we've been, and so that's been kind of different, too," she said. "We're not in a forest where you can't really see. We've got all this beautiful stuff. It's great."

She particularly enjoyed filming on the cave sets. "It was so awesome. The cave set was enormous. It was vast," the writer said. "They're just so cool, so much fun to walk on. It was kind of like someone built something out of your imagination just for you."

Meyer's story follows the invasion of an alien race called Souls. They enter the human body like parasites, erasing their hosts' personalities. But when Melanie Stryder's (Saoirse Ronan) body snatcher, Wanderer, instead becomes engulfed in Melanie's memories, she develops her own feelings for Melanie's love Jared (Max Irons) and allies with her host body to find him.

Those of you wondering if the script will stay true to the book needn't worry; the story is in good hands. Meyer revealed she's had a lot of input in this film thanks to director Andrew Niccol.

"Andrew and I work pretty well together. He's really, really great, and so he was super-easy to work with," she said. "In the script-writing process he loved to hear what I had to say and worked really well with me on that. He's really about, 'What do you think about this? What do you think about that?' I think [I have more input] because we are really in sync."

If you're like Meyer and you too miss Stewart and Pattinson, tune in to MTV on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards to see if they take home the award for Best Kiss!

Check out everything we've got on "The Host."

I'm here! I'm here! And I saw my first gang-banger get arrested yesterday so I feel like a total Angeleno.

I'm getting ready to go to the gym (again, like a total Angeleno!) so I will update later about my run-ins with Alexander Skarsgard, Pauly Shore, and Jeremy or Jason London (I'm not sure which one it was and seeing if I could force him to do drugs to find out seemed unfair. Besides, as it turned out, he was telling the truth?)

Anyhoo, I've got a lot to tell you about gardening! (Did you know if you get dirt wet it turns into mud? Yuck.)

And bumpers! (They don't bump off anything... they go, "Scraaaaaaaatch!")

And there's probably more but, again, I have to go because I have to get to the gym!

Adele: March 2012 cover girl of Vogue

Adele

Adele posed for an elegantly put together Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot spread while talking about everything from ridding of the booze to her highly publicized vocal cord surgery. Highlights from Adele's interview are as follows.
On her 'loud' personality: “I am quite loud and bolshie,” she says (British slang for unruly and clamorous). “I’m a big personality. I walk into a room, big and tall and loud.” Indeed. There is no doubt when Adele is in the building. The rule of thumb for protecting one’s vocal cords, she tells me, is: If people are more than an arm’s length away, you shouldn’t talk to them. “But I am like, Wah! Wah! Wah!,” she says, laughing. “It’s really bad.”
On giving up drinking last May: “Don’t like drinking anymore. I think I got it out of my system. D’yaknowhaImean?”
On her vocal troubles: “I’ve been singing properly every day since I was about fifteen or sixteen and I have never had any problems with my voice, ever. I’ve had a sore throat here and there, had a cold and sung through it, but that day it just went while I was onstage in Paris during a radio show. It was literally like someone had pulled a curtain over it.” She flew to London the next morning to see her doctor and was diagnosed with acute laryngitis. After a couple weeks’ rest, she continued her European tour, came to America, and then her voice went again in May. “That was a hemorrhage... a burst blood vessel on my vocal cord. That healed, I did a tour, and then it happened again at my best friend’s wedding on October 1.”
On getting support through her surgery from other artists: “John Mayer had it done at the same time as I did and he really helped me be chilled out about it. Roger Daltrey’s had loads of stuff done; Steven Tyler reached out; Elton John. Lots of artists have had problems with their voices, but you don’t know about it. And they are still singing incredibly well in their 50s and 60s.”
On her six Grammy nominations: “I burst into tears when I found out. And I would love, absolutely love, to win. This record is coming to an end, and that would be the final brick on it.” [gallery=821]

Ween May Be Gone, But Their 'Good Run' Lives On

With the band (apparently) calling it quits after 25 years, Bigger Than the Sound offers a eulogy.
By James Montgomery

Dean Ween
Photo: Chris McKay/ WireImage

In my review of Ween's 2007 album La Cucaracha (which also happens to be the last time they were mentioned on this website), I referred to them as "musical cockroaches," the kind of scurrying, scrounging band that — much like the titular (and totally gross) arthropod on the record's cover — was capable of surviving nuclear holocausts and subsisting on a bar of soap for weeks at a time.

"In essence, Ween are indestructible," I wrote. "They will be here long after you and I are gone."

It turns out, I was wrong about that last point. Because on Tuesday, Aaron Freeman, better known to bong-rippers and Scotchgard-huffers everywhere as Gene Ween, told Rolling Stone that he was retiring the mantle and ending Ween, saying, simply, "It's been a long time; 25 years. It was a good run."

Of course, this apparently came as a surprise to Freeman's partner for the past quarter-century, Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo, who reportedly wrote on his private Facebook page that the band's breakup "is news to me, all I can say for now I guess." There's been no official announcement on Ween's site, and as late as 2010, the duo were talking about entering the studio to begin work on the follow-up to Cucaracha, though, from the sound of things, those sessions probably didn't go all that well ... if they ever happened at all.

But if this really is the end of the band, well, most fans probably saw it coming. After an infamous onstage meltdown at a Ween show last year, Freeman entered rehab (and just released a solo album, Marvelous Clouds), and in recent years, Melchiondo has devoted most of his time to his side-job as a fishing guide (he describes himself as both a "pretty good conversationalist" and "fully insured"). Still, none of that makes the news any less of a bummer, especially for folks like me, who grew up with Ween, got sh--faced at their live shows — a genuine rite of passage for any fan — spent endless smoky nights dissecting their wildly divergent back catalog and, as a result, would go on to process popular music through their own uniquely cracked spectrum. Freeman is right: It was a good run.

And that's why it's taken me almost a day to write this column. After all, how does one encapsulate their 25-year career, which began in eighth-grade typing class and has encompassed tape-machine schlock, bizarre, brain-addled semi-hits — 1993's "Push Th' Little Daisys" — critical acclaim and Pizza Hut commercials (and master classes in old-school country & western, nautical prog, Beatles-y psych, Buffett-y calypso and, uh, Philly Soul, to name just a few of the dozens of genres they've skewered)? Because of all that, they most certainly rank up there as one of weirdest acts of all time, earning their rightful place alongside the likes of Zappa, Spike Jones, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Captain Beefheart ... though, to me, Ween were always something more: They were an entry point to all that oddity, the first of their kind. The moment I heard "Dr. Rock" or "The Stallion, Pt. 1" (from 1991's The Pod), I could practically feel my musical consciousness being expanded, and from that moment on, everything was different. In a lot of ways, Ween made me.

I followed them through every twist and turn, often as puzzled as I was delighted (12 Golden Country Greats and The Mollusk remain two of my favorite albums ever). But through it all, Ween remained an important band for me, an old favorite, a reminder of the good times when I didn't know better and when it was socially acceptable to wear basketball shorts and sit cross-legged in smoky dorm rooms all day long. And while nothing I write can effectively eulogize them, I do think that, in closing, it's important to defend them in one regard: No matter what anyone tells you, Ween were never a "joke" band. They were a terrific band, one adept at doing anything — mostly because they wanted to — and brilliant enough to carry it out to the nth degree.

The attention to detail on albums like White Pepper or Mollusk was the kind of thing only true musicians (and music aficionados) could muster — if Ween were gonna do a prog record, you'd better believe it was gonna sound like a prog record — and that held true to the very end. On what might very well end up being their final album track (the smooth-jazz-slaying "Your Party," from La Cucaracha), not only did they nail the buttocks-clenching uprightness of the genre, but they went out and got none other than David Sanborn to play satin-sheet sax on the thing. That goes beyond mere humor; it's pure genius.

And that's what Ween were, to me, and to a whole lot of other people too: musical geniuses. They just managed to hide it for 25 years — though those of us who worship at the altar of the Boognish knew otherwise. Ween may not have lasted forever, but the memories they've soundtracked certainly will. It's a Brown day, indeed.

'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Unlike Any 'Twilight' Movie, Kristen Stewart Says

During MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week, KStew explains why the final film of the saga left her 'shell-shocked.'
By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Even with one enormous summer blockbuster a week away from release, Kristen Stewart excitedly discussed the conclusion to the "Twilight Saga" at a MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week event for "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"Breaking Dawn - Part 2," which won't hit theaters until this November, surely ranks among one of the most anticipated films of the year, and Stewart counts herself among those eager to see the finale. "I'm excited. I have to see it done," she told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I haven't seen it. It's a big deal."

The story for the final "Twilight" will take the story in an intriguing different direction as Bella adjusts to life as a new mom and a new vampire, no longer the plain Jane every-girl. Stewart told MTV News that the change makes for a surprisingly different movie experience.

"It's so bizarre, the tone change. You've always been behind her. You've always been using her. She's how you see that world," she said. "Now that her perspective has completely changed, it's like 'Where am I?' It's really cool. I, myself, am still a little bit shell-shocked. It's not like sitting down and watching a 'Twilight' movie." From the sounds of it, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will likely have more than a few award-worthy moments, much like "Part 1". Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be returning to the MTV Movie Awards, airing this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, to defend their long-running legacy as the Best Kiss champions, along with several other nominations for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1".

John Mayer Snags #1 Debut With Born And Raised

Adele's 21 continues its astonishing run with a 65th week in the top five.
By Gil Kaufman

The new-and-improved John Mayer appears to agree with his fans, since the formerly mouthy guitar-slinger's latest, Born And Raised
, will debut at the top of the Billboard 200 next week. Mayer's fifth solo disc will become his third to come in at the top of the charts thanks to sales of 219,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

Well behind him was Adele, whose 21 continues to astonish, moving nearly 56,000 copies in its 66th week on the charts. In fact, since its February 2011 release, 21 has only fallen out of the top five one time on its way to more than 9.2 million in sales.

The top 10 also saw the debut of the latest solo effort from guitar hero Slash, Apocalyptic Love (#4, 38,000), Christian rockers MercyMe, Hurt & the Healer (#7, 33,000) and singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, Once Upon Another Time (#8, 31,000). The rest of the top 10: Carrie Underwood, Blown Away (#3, 45,000), One Direction, Up All Night (#5, 37,000), Lionel Richie, Tuskegee (#6, 33,000), NOW 42 (#9, 31,000) and Norah Jones, Little Broken Hearts (#10, 28,00).

It was a big tumble for former "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert, whose second major-label album, Trespassing, slipped 71 percent in its second week and 10 spots to #11 on sales of 22,000, while "Idol" finalist Haley Reinhart's debut, Listen Up! debuted at #16 (20,000). Both had better weeks than Lambert's former rival, "Idol" champ Kris Allen, who showed up at #25 with his second album, Thank You Camellia (16,000).

Elsewhere, Gotye pal Kimbra broke into the charts at #13 with Vows (22,000) and joke rock duo Tenacious D had one of the week's biggest drops, with Rize of the Fenix sinking 24 spots from its debut to #28 (14,000). In the wake of Robin Gibb's death
fans were motivated to check out Ultimate Bee Gees, which had a 291 percent sales increase to enter the charts at #47 on sales of just under 9,000. Another Brothers Gibb compilation, Number Ones, charted at #68 (7,000).
