With her first season as a judge on "Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model" having just gotten underway last month, Whitney Port garnered herself a little mid-season exposure by covering the September 2012 issue of Company magazine.
The 27-year-old reality star/designer got styled up in beachy boho chic outfits for the publication's 'Ibiza' issue spread while offering her take on London girls' style and what it takes to succeed as a budding intern.
Highlights from Miss Port's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Company!
On her appreciation of London girls' style:
"When I first came to London, I was in awe of the girls walking down the street. They looked like they had just stepped out of a fashion shoot, with such a cool mix of prints, color and texture – especially in east London. When you're from LA, it’s easy to get stuck in that jeans and T-shirt look, but being in the UK has encouraged me to take more risks. I've tried to be a little more street and edgier."
On her nightmare experience as an intern during a photo shoot with an 'unnamed' actress:
"I had to massage her feet and they were gnarly! It was at the beginning of my career so I did it without saying a word. It’s just what you do, but it was gross."
On her sought after qualities in budding interns:
"[They should] have a great attitude and will do whatever it takes without necessarily having to be asked," adding, "[They] shouldn’t be afraid to take a stance' but should also beware of talking too much. There’s a balance between being involved and lingering too long. There’s a respectable distance."
